BACOLOD City – The Armando Sumayang Jr Command (ASJC) of the New People’s Army (NPA) admitted to killing a former person deprived of liberty (PDL) at Sitio Indangawan, Barangay Manlucahoc, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.

In a statement released to the media on Nov. 3, Ka Andrea Guerrero, spokesperson of ASJC, said that Dominador Tecson, 30, of the said village, was an alleged active intelligence asset of the government.

The group also alleged that Tecson was allegedly involved in a robbery hold-up.

But, police earlier said that the victim had no record in the barangay or involvement in any illegal activity.

On Nov. 2, Tecson was waiting for a bus when the gunman suddenly appeared and shot him, hitting his hips and head.

Police earlier eyed revenge as a possible motive in the killing, considering that he just got out of jail last month after serving his sentence for a frustrated murder case that happened in Candoni town in 2020.

Despite the admission of the NPA, Police Master Sergeant Robert Castro, investigator of Sipalay City Police Station, said the case is still under investigation.
