BACOLOD City – An alleged notorious robber and drug personality was shot to death by two unidentified armed persons on a motorcycle at Barangay Old Sagay, Sagay City, Negros Occidental last April 30, 2019.

Killed was Raymond Baynosa, 22, a native of Toboso town.

Police Major Antonio Benitez Jr., city police chief, said the victim, who was staying at his grandmother’s house in the village, was standing at the roadside when one of the assailants approached and shot him.

The gunman was wearing a bonnet while his motorcycle-driver companion was wearing a helmet. Both fled after the incident.

Aside from the two assailants, another unidentified man was also tagged in the incident as an alleged lookout.

Benitez said Baynosa succumbed to three gunshot wounds on his body and head.

Police recovered from the scene three fired cartridges of .45 caliber.

Benitez said the victim was identified as an alleged suspect behind robbery and akyat-bahay incidents in Sagay City, and neighboring areas of Escalante City, and Toboso town.

He also said that they are verifying reports about the victim’s alleged connection with the New people’s Army (NPA).

Benitez said they are eyeing failed illegal drug transaction or revenge, as possible motives behind the killing.

“We already have a lead on the identities of the perpetrators but we need witnesses who can testify on the incident,” he added.
