Nocppo records 42nd COVID patient

BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here reported over the weekend its 42nd coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) case among its personnel.

Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, Nocppo’s information officer, said the non-commissioned police officer was swabbed on March 9, 2021 through the mandatory swab testing of the local government unit.

His results came out days later and he was moved to a quarantine facility after he tested positive for the virus, she added.

Donasco said the policeman was assigned in a police station in the northern part of the province.

He was asymptomatic and is now recovering from COVID-19, she added.

Donasco said that once the cop has fully recovered and will test negative on his re-swab, he will be allowed to return to work.

Donasco said his close contacts were already traced and were also advised to be on quarantine.
