Nocppo nets P107-M worth of illegal drugs

BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here confiscated a total of P107,580,781.88 worth of illegal drugs in the province from January 1 to Dec. 15, 2022.

The provincial police office conducted 678 police operations and arrested 843 persons.

Based on Nocppo records, 15,670 grams of shabu and 8,569.92 grams of marijuana were confiscated during said period.

In the campaign against illegal gambling, 698 operations were conducted that resulted in the arrest of 2,466 persons, and confiscation of P270,313 bet money.

In the campaign on wanted persons, 3,094 wanted persons were apprehended, including 350 most wanted persons, and 2,774 other wanted persons.

For loose firearms, 160 operations were conducted, resulting in the arrest of 188 persons and confiscation of 178 firearms. Also, 336 loose firearms were deposited and 812 others were surrendered to the police, totalling to 1,148 firearms.

In the campaign against illegal logging, 14 operations were conducted and 18 persons were arrested.

For illegal fishing, 479 operations were conducted and 866 persons were arrested, with the confiscation of P29,950 worth of fish.
