2021’s PBA Top Rookie draft pick Joshua Munzon confirmed that he will be missing the rest of the 2021 Philippine Cup due to a finger injury.

Munzon suffered the injury during their game against the Magnolia Hotshots which turned out to be a dislocated left pinky finger.

“Currently, there is a metal pin going down my left pinky finger keeping the joint together. I recently got the stitches out so I’m coming along,” said Munzon.

Munzon’s absence is a huge blow to the Terrafirma Dyip after posting double-digit scoring productions before the Magnolia game.

Known as a premier scorer and the country’s top 3-on-3 player, Munzon had high expectations but had a rough start against the TNT Tropang Giga in their opening game.

However, Munzon would quickly bounce back and display his scoring ability against Kiefer Ravena and the NLEX Road Warriors as he put up 24 huge points despite the loss.

Before exiting the game against Magnolia, Munzon already had five points and two assists and was slowly gaining his shooting rhythm in the second quarter.

“Definitely sucks because I was just getting into a rhythm and building chemistry with my teammates but I’m confident I’ll come back stronger from this,” Munzon added.
