New tourist attractions in Roxas City open

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two new tourist attractions here were formally opened on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022.

Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas led the blessing and inauguration of Paseo del Rio and Casa de Mercado located along the Panay River and Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center (TATC).

Mayor Dadivas said the area used to be a garbage dump but it was converted into a commercial and leisure center to give opportunities and livelihood to small businessmen and a recreational area for residents and tourists alike.

The mayor hailed the ITL lgnacio Architects for making the projects possible – Architects Maria Socorro Ignacio, Maricar Li, Rolando V. Ignacio and Bryan Loyola.

He also thanked Engr. Hermoginos Montini and Engr. Dante Kennedy De Justo, landscapers Keith Anonat and Anna Arriola.

The occasion was attended by Capiz First District Congressman Tawi Billones, Former Congressman Roging Dadivas, City Councilors Cora Balgos Tiangco, Gary Potato, and Trina Ignacio; Board Members Thea Faith Reyes, Tambol Apolinario, and Sonny Besa, and partners Inday Teresa Almalbis, Doc Pip Acepcion, Rey Magallanes, Pepe del Rosario and Alvin Balgos Tiangco.

Also present were Department of Trade and Industry-Capiz Provincial Director Ken Queenie Cunada, Provincial Tourism Officer Al Tesoro, Mr. Dale Bernas, Joey and Judy Marquez, Tony Morente, CIFPA and other business leaders.
