BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer said the Sangguniang Panlalawigan acted on all legislative requests indorsed by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and the cities and municipalities in the province during its first 100 days.

Ferrer said that the SP will continue to do so as “it is a challenge I pose to myself and the SP members to act on these expediently, judiciously and with due diligence within the bounds of law without any thought of political gain or profit.”

In a copy, the vice governor said the SP enacted two appropriation ordinances and five general ordinances while it has reviewed 391 enactments coming from the 31 cities and municipalities.

It also approved the accreditation of 30 civil society organizations, some are currently participating as members of the Local School Board, Local Health Board, Peace and Order Council, Provincial Anti Drug-Abuse Council and Provincial Development Council.

The SP conducted 18 sessions, with six perfect attendances.

The report also indicated that the SP Committees on Finance, Laws and Cooperatives enacted the most number of resolutions and ordinances.

Provincial Board members Araceli Somosa and Valentino Miguel Alonso were cited for notching perfect attendance in their sessions.

“I would like to stress to my colleagues as well as the staff that our work here is always about heartfelt service and that service is color blind, we strive to serve all those who come to us for help, regardless of their political color and affiliation,” Ferrer said.
