BACOLOD City – The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo) is intensifying its campaign against illegal gambling, following recent complaints on rampant gambling activities in the province.

In a statement sent to the media earlier this week, Police Colonel Julian Entoma, Norppo director has directed all police chiefs to conduct all-out campaign against all forms of illegal activities in the province.

Entoma issued the order after several complaints on illegal activities particularly on illegal gambling reached his office, amidst the government’s effort to put an end to all forms of illegal activities.

The provincial police office started to strengthen their campaign, following the arrest of some individuals involved in illegal gambling in some parts of the province over the weekend.

Entoma directed the police to enforce the law, without fear or favor. “This will serve as a message to the people to stop their illegal gambling activities,” he said.
