BACOLOD City – The provincial government will press charges against a 19-year-old Negrense for allegedly submitting a fake negative RT-PCR result and S-PaSS in order to return to Negros Occidental.

Provincial Legal Officer Alberto Nellas said the 19-year-old lad was traced to Cadiz City.

He was reportedly aided by a resident of EB Magalona in securing a fake negative RT-PCR test result for P2,000.

“It is no joke to submit fake RT-PCR test results amidst the COVID-19 pandemic,” Nellas said.

Earlier Governor Eugenio Lacson said, “This is a serious offense that endangers the life of others.”

Under Republic Act 11332, or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act, those found guilty of presenting fake RT-PCR results may face fines of up to P50,000, or imprisonment of one to six months.
