Negrense cager joins 2019 PBA D-League

(CORRECTED) A FORMER stalwart of Hua Siong College of Iloilo (HSCI) continues to impress the Manila-based teams in the ongoing University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 81.

Mark Nonoy, a native of La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, fuelled University of Santo Tomas (UST) Tiger Cubs in escaping Far Eastern University (FEU) Baby Tamaraws, 86-83, at the San Juan Arena.

Scoring in double-digits – 24 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, three steals, and two blocks -0 Nonoy is also set to join the 2019 PBA D-League.

To recall, three universities in Manila offered Nonoy to join their respective teams, but the former Palarong Pambansa star picked UST.

With his sterling performance in every game, he also outpaced Kyle Sotto of Ateneo in the list of the league’s best player.

Meanwhile, cager Karl Kenneth “Ken” Bono of Iloilo City will transfer to TNT KaTropa in the ongoing 2019 Honda PBA Philippine Cup of the PBA.

The Meralco Bolts released Bono at the start of the All-Filipino Conference but he got an offer from the KaTropa team.

He started his career with Alaska Aces in 2007 before moving to San Miguel Beermen, Coca Cola Tigers, Barako Bull, San Miguel Coffee and the Bolts.

He also saw action in the ASEAN Basketball League with the Bangkok Cobras in 2011.

Bono will join former Rain or Shine Elasto Painters guard Jan Karlo Casino and Filipino-Canadian forward James Forrester as new additions to Bong Ravena’s squad.
