SAN JOSE, Antique – Business name registration is easy in various parts of Antique province through the Negosyo Centers.

“Before, the transaction is usually done with the Department of Trade and Industry based in San Jose, now interested persons can do it already in the Negosyo Centers in their respective municipalities,” said Information Officer Lynna Joy Cardinal in an interview during the PIA Radio Program.

Negosyo Centers were established by DTI to serve the best interest of small businesses and entrepreneurs in various cities and municipalities in the country.

The Negosyo Center aims to bring the services of the national government to the localities to facilitate the processing of business documents of micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Cardinal noted that  Antique’s database shows 2,935 business names (BN) were registered in 2018 which is 51 percent higher than 1,944 BNs registered in 2017.

For January this year alone, there are 790 BN applications approved or 68 percent higher than the 470 BN approved BN of the same period last year.

The registration of business name is pursuant to Republic Act 3883 (Business Names Law).

The renewal and registration of business name through DTI is one of the requirements before a business registrant can acquire a permit from the local government unit. (PIA Antique)
