BACOLOD City – Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, director of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo), on Tuesday offered cash reward to informants who can help authorities in arresting six suspected drug group leaders in the province.

Baleros said that Nocppo can give P50,000 to P200,000 reward to any informant who can help them hunt down alleged drug leaders in the province.

Nocppo has earlier identified six drug groups operating in the province.

“We will allocate funds from our intelligence support,” he said, adding that he will also plan to ask the local government units (LGUs) to share a little amount for an additional reward.

Earlier, Baleros offered P200,000 reward to persons who can help arrest Silay City’s top suspected drug personality Michael Divinagracia.

He said that Mayor Mark Golez recently committed to give an additional P300,000 reward to anyone who will lead them to Divinagracia who has been on the loose for some time.

Baleros said that most of the arrested drug suspects in Silay pointed to Divinagracia as their alleged source.

“We need the cooperation of the community to arrest these people. If they continue to get scared, hindi natin mahuhuli ang mga ito,” he said. May mga cases na nandiyan lang pero hindi nirereport,” he added.

He urged the people in Silay to support and join the police’s campaign against illegal drugs to capture Divinagracia.

Meanwhile, when asked for reaction about reports on Police Lieutenant Colonel Jovie Espendio targeting Silay in the drug war, Baleros said that if it’s possible, Espenido can coordinate with them and they will support him to capture the identified drug personalities in the province.

“If you are a police officer, you are authorized to arrest the criminals. Wala namang boundary pag sa anti-illegal drug operations,” he said.
