The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) arrested more wanted persons compared to other provincial and city police offices in Western Visayas.

Of the 513 arrested wanted persons in April 2022, NOCPPO nabbed 278 including 32 most wanted persons and 246 other wanted persons.

Based on PRO-6 records, 83 arrested individuals were classified as most wanted persons (MWPs) and 430 were other wanted persons (OWPs).

Most wanted persons are those included in the Top 10 (Municipal/Province/Region) lists with pending warrant of arrest and mostly charged for a crime with no bail bond. Also included in the list are individuals with pending warrant and monetary reward.

Other wanted persons are those with pending warrant of arrest that were not categorized as Top Most Wanted.

Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) made 12 arrests on MWPs while Iloilo PPO has 12; Capiz PPO with 10; Aklan PPO and Antique PPO with 4 each; Iloilo City PO with 3; and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group – Regional Field Unit 6 (CIDG-RFU6) with 2.

Meanwhile, Iloilo PPO arrested 60 OWPs; Bacolod City PO with 38; Antique PPO with 23; Aklan PPO and Capiz PPO with 15 each; CIDG-RFU6 with 13; Iloilo City PO with 12; and Guimaras with 8.

Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, Western Visayas police chief, said the arrests were the result of 489 police operations made region wide.

The region’s top cop had commended all the unit commanders and their tracker teams across the region for their patience to locate and arrest these law violators to make them answer the offense they’ve committed.

“These accomplishments bespeak of your commitment to cleanse every community of these wanted persons. This achievement was made possible because of the strong coordination and collaboration between and among the police and the community,” he said.
