BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here has no list yet of possible areas of concern for the May 2022 elections.

Earlier, the provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec) office was looking into Escalante City and Moises Padilla town as possible election hotspots this year.

But Police Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, Nocppo’s public information officer, said the provincial police office continue to validate areas to be included in the election watchlist.

“Fluid po kasi, because every time po may changes, possible na maibanan or madugangan,” Donasco said.

Donasco said nothing is final yet because many parties or committees are involved to declare an area as an election hotspot.

Donasco assured that they will remain apolitical. Thus, validation is needed to ensure that the elections will be fair and peaceful.

“Kailangang tutukan po,” she said.

Over the weekend, 10 police chiefs who were assigned more than a year in their respective areas were reshuffled ahead of the elections, to avoid familiarity.
