Five new multi-purpose buildings (MPBs) were built by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)-Aklan District Engineering Office to various barangays of Banga in Aklan.

These buildings (covered courts) will serve as venues for barangay-related events for the residents of Banga, Aklan.

Citing a report from OIC-District Engineer Gener J. Abergas, DPWH-6 Regional Director Nerie D. Bueno said the completed buildings are located at Barangays Muguing, Cupang, Mangan, Jumarap and Daja Norte.

“These structures will provide a more ideal venue for any community-related activities among localities. Residents in this area can now engage in a variety of activities to protect themselves from the heat of the sun and heavy rains,” Engr. Bueno said.

The ₱2.9-million project in Muguing involves the expansion of a 434-square-meter covered court

The ₱1.9-million MPB in Cupang comprises the installation of a column, corbel beam, roof beam, and concrete gutter on a 470 square meter area.

The completion of the 357-square-meter building in Mangan includes the construction of one-tier concrete bleachers with a combination of aluminum awning windows for walling, with total funding of ₱2.9-million.

The ₱2.4-million structure in Jumarap, with a total area of 420 square meters, entails the construction of columns with footings and roof beam sections.

Likewise, the 128-square-meter covered court in Daja Norte, costing ₱2.8 million, includes masonry works on the second floor exclusively, with glazed tiles installed in the comfort rooms of the ground floor.
