Minor rescued, 9 others nabbed for drugs

BACOLOD City – Nine persons were arrested while a minor was rescued in separate buy-bust operations here and in Negros Occidental from June 14 to 16, 2019.

On Friday, Danilo Mallorca Jr., and Rodolfo Fuentebella Jr. were collared by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental at Barangay Bata here.

Police seized from the duo 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000, and drug paraphernalia.

A minor was also “rescued” during the drug bust.

On Sunday, Lester Latoza, Ronald Aliguin, Jepoy Quimcing, and Mark Anthony Botiong were arrested at Barangay Banago here after police recovered from them nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing 15 grams (valued at P180,000), the P1,000 marked money, .38-caliber revolver, and two live ammunitions.

All four suspects are detained at Police Station 3.

Also arrested that day in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental were Dante Araujo, 52, of Barangay Rizal; Larry Magbanua, 23, of Barangay Prosperidad Proper; and a 16-year-old boy.

Police confiscated from the suspects five sachets of suspected shabu worth P12,000, drug paraphernalia, and the P500 marked money.

The two arrested suspects are detained at San Carlos City Police Station while the minor was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
