BACOLOD City – Ten persons, including a 17-year-old boy were arrested for the seizure of about P1,211,660 worth of suspected shabu in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Negros island from November 14 to 19.
Of the total figure, P932,960 worth of suspected shabu were seized from Catherine Blanco of Dumaguete City, after police responded to a traffic accident involving her.
Cops later confiscated from Blanco about 137.20 grams of the said contraband at Barangay Tandayag, Amlan, Negros Oriental last November 14.
A report from Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo) said that Blanco is a top street level target drug personality in Dumaguete City.
Charges for illegal possession of dangerous drugs were already filed against Blanco before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Dumaguete City last week.
In Negros Occidental, Dennis Donato, 26, of Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City, was arrested in a buy-bust inside a pension house at Barangay 2 last Sunday, after police recovered from him seven sachets of suspected shabu worth P12,000, drug paraphernalia, P400 cash, P800 cash, including the P300 marked money, a .38 caliber revolver, and five live ammunition of the said firearm.
In E.B. Magalona town, Rolly Eligino, 25, and Faustino Rojo, 18, both residents of Barangay Banago here were arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Gahit on the same day, which resulted in the confiscation of four sachets of suspected shabu worth P5,100, and the P500 marked money.
In Manapla town, a 17-year-old boy of Barangay Punta Mesa was arrested in a drug bust at Barangay 11 last Monday, after he allegedly yielded five sachets of suspected shabu worth P3,500, and the P500 marked money.
In Bacolod City, Jenro Hornoz, 30, of Barangay 40 was arrested in a buy-bust at the said village last Sunday, for the seizure of nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing six grams worth P65,000, and the P200 marked money. He is detained at Police Station 6.
The following day, Wilbert Dolar was arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Sum-ag here after police confiscated from him seven sachets of suspected shabu worth P23,000, the P500 marked money, and a canister. He is detained at Police Station 9.
Also arrested in a drug bust at Barangay Banago here yesterday was Carmencita Cuadra. Police seized from her five sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams worth P150,000, and the P500 marked money. She is detained at Police Station 3.
Arrested in the same operation at Barangay 27 here yesterday were Cherryl Salmingo, 44, and Trisha Salmingo, 19, both residents of the said village. Police recovered from them seven sachets of suspected shabu worth P20,100, and the P500 marked money. Both suspects are detained at Police Station 7.
