Militiaman killed in ambush

BACOLOD City – The Army’s 303rd Infantry Brigade (IBde) is linking the New People’s Army (NPA) to the murder of a member of the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (Cafgu) at Sitio Kabayabasan, Barangay Montilla, Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental last Saturday.

Brigadier General Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd IBde commander, identified the victim as Joselito Raboy, 40.

Raboy was assigned to the Delta Company of the 62nd Infantry Battalion (IB) based in Barangay Quintin Remo, according to the police.

Pasaporte said the victim was riding his motorcycle from the detachment when he was waylaid by four unidentified armed persons believed to be NPA rebels. “Tinambangan siya,” he added.

Pasaporte said the victim was off duty at that time and had no firearm.

Pasaporte said that slugs of suspected .45 caliber firearm were recovered from the crime scene. Investigation is ongoing.
