It seems like Conor McGregor just can’t leave the sport he was born for.

After a couple of retirement announcements, one of the icons in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced another comeback in the octagon that left the MMA community in excitement heading into the January 23, 2021 proposed fight.

However, McGregor will face a tough opponent in one of the best lightweights in the UFC, the tough and gritty Dustin Poirier.

Poirier was fresh off a convincing and dominant unanimous decision victory over Dan Hooker last June and will try to stay in shape against the Irish phenom.

Meanwhile, McGregor’s last bout was almost a year ago against top dog Donald Cerrone whom he knocked out in the first round and showed he still has the power to finish the job.

The McGregor-Poirier bout still has no definite venue to take place but both camps are already about to prepare as the January 28 set schedule is already final.

Will McGregor announce another retirement after his bout with Poirier or will he finalize one last UFC run in his stellar career?
