Mayor’s son takes oath as city councilor

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Jericho Angel L. Celino took his oath of office afternoon of June 3, 2019 as the number one Sanggunian Panlunsod(SP) member of Roxas City.

Lilian Cordenillo, Punong Barangay of Loctugan administered the oathtaking at the Barangay Hall in the presence of Celino’s father, Mayor Angel Alan B. Celino, and wife Kirstin Ann Talabucon-Celino and daughter Leoni.

A second-term village chief of San Jose village here, Jericho got 39,347 votes, making him the senior member of the city council.

The 33-year-old Jericho ran under the ticket of the Liberal Party.

Jericho’s runningmates, former vice mayor and provincial legal officer Ronnie Dadivas, reelectionist vice mayor Erwin Sicad, and seven other candidates for SP were also elected in the May 13, 2019 midterm elections.

Other reelected councilors were Trina Almalbis-Ignacio, Dr. Cesar Yap Jr., Cora Balgos-Tiangco and Atty. Gary Potato.

Meanwhile, two candidates of the Pulahan group and one independent bet join the 10-member City Council. They are village chiefs Midelo Ocampo of Milibili and Moreno Gonzaga of Cagay.

Capiz first district provincial board member Roberto Ignacio filled the last city council slot.
