WINNING is sweeter when you do it in front of your countrymen, indeed.

Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo overwhelmed Thai veteran Panya Uthok via unanimous decision to take the vacant WBC Asia featherweight championship in front of his hometown fans in Bohol, Tagbilaran City.

With the impressive win, Magsayo notched his twentieth win and is still undefeated with 14 wins coming by way of knockout.

Magsayo kept on adding to his volume of punches as the rounds progressed. Magsayo stalked Uthok throughout the match, sending a flurry of punches at every opportunity, not allowing the Thai veteran any chance to settle and find his groove.

As soon as the bell rang, Magsayo wasted no time in attacking Uthok, looking for openings and punching at all angles.

Uthok showed signs of life in round 9 as he started to connect with solid punches, but Uthok just couldn’t compete with Magsayo’s volume of punches.

From rounds 10 to 12, Magsayo kept the pace and showed no signs of slowing down, putting on an impressive performance in front of his Boholano family.
