Right after the end of the PBA bubble edition, questions about him retiring immediately surrounded Marc Pingris.

Still considered as one of the most vital pieces in their roster, Pingris has not been the same player after tearing his ACL in 2018.

It took almost a year for Pingris to get back on the court where he posted his lowest career average with 3.4 points and 3.7 rebounds in under 15 minutes of playing time per game.

Now, with the upcoming PBA 46th season nearing, head coach Chito Victolero and the rest of the management are yet to receive Pingris’ final decision whether he will play or retire.

“Actually I talked to Ping last week and maganda naman. Maganda naman ‘yung balita niya. Maganda ‘yung recovery daw niya, nakaka-takbo na siya. Nakakatalon. Minimal na lang ‘yung sakit, halos wala na nga rin daw,” shared Victolero.

Pingris is still undergoing minor rehabilitation after posting another injury in his calf that prevented him from joining Paul Lee and the rest of the Hotshots during the bubble.

“Hopefully he can recover right away, para makapag-plano siya kung ano ‘yung talagang plan niya for this coming season,” Victolero said.

Furthermore, coach Victolero said that some of their plans for the roster and the team will still depend on Pingris’ availability.
