BACOLOD City – A man whom police suspected to be high on illegal drugs was injured after he jumped from the fly-over in Barangay Bata here Sunday night.

Police withheld the name of the 38-year-old man from Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Levy Pangue, head of Police Station 3, said the man reportedly felt uneasy when he was sighted by some motorists on top of the fly-over past 7 p.m.

Pangue said that the man, according to his family, had no history of suicide attempts. “He was also not undergoing depression,” the station commander added.

Pangue said the incident did not cause traffic congestion in the area, although it somehow caused alarm to motorists, considering that the area is busy.

The man sustained minor injuries and is now stable at Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here.

He said they are still talking to the man’s family to determine what really triggered him to jump off the fly-over.
