A 27-year-old construction stabbed his superior early evening of May 16, 2020 at Janiuay, Iloilo.

Bryan Escote, a native of Brgy. Bugasong, Antique, was arrested after the incident.

Prior to the incident, Escote and the victim, Allan Sacari, 47, of Bago City, Negros Occidental, were drinking liquor with two other co-workers inside the bunkhouse of BSP Construction at Barangay Tambal.

Police Staff Sergeant Jessie Caro, Janiuay police investigator, said a verbal tussle erupted between Escote and Sacari.

The victim was the company’s safety officer while the suspect worked as a safety laborer.

“They argued about a work-related topic which led to a commotion,” Caro said.

The suspect pulled a knife and attacked Sacari.

Caro said the victim suffered a wound under his eye, which was probably hit by the knife’s scabbard.

He also suffered a stab wound on his left shoulder.

Sacari was rushed to Federico Roman Tirador Sr. Memorial District Hospital for treatment.

He was discharged but later referred to Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao, Iloilo City due to continuous bleeding of his wound.
