BACOLOD City – An alleged drunken man died while two others, including his older brother and father, were wounded in a stabbing incident in Barangay Sampinit, Bago City, Negros Occidental last Friday.

The fatality was identified as Ferdinand Flores Jr., 25, a fish vendor.

Police Master Sergeant Anthony Luto, case investigator of Bago City Police Station, said Ferdinand attended his neighbor’s birthday party and drank liquor with his friends that afternoon.

When he went home later that night, Ferdinand figured in an argument with his mother.

Luto said the victim then allegedly attacked his mother with a knife, but the suspect and the victim’s older brother Nike Flores, 28, pacified him.

Ferdinand, however, allegedly stabbed Nike twice in his right underarm, Luto said.

Their father saw the commotion and pacified the two brothers. However, Ferdinand also allegedly stabbed his father in his left finger and back.

Ferdinand and Nike then grappled for the weapon until the latter was able to grab the knife from the victim. The suspect then allegedly stabbed the victim twice, which caused his death.

“Kung makainom ni abi ang victim, ga maoy man gid ni kuno sa ila,” Luto said.

Luto said the victim’s family has decided not to press charges against Nike.

Meanwhile, another stabbing incident perpetrated by an unidentified person also occurred in Barangay Cabadiangan, Himamaylan City last Saturday, killing Jeffrey Dedase46, of Binalbagan town.
