Man shot dead by ‘riding-in-tandem’

BACOLOD City – A man died after he was shot by two unidentified armed persons on a motorcycle along Araneta highway in Barangay Tangub here yesterday.

The victim was identified as Jerry Gasendo, 53, of Barangay 40 here.

Police Major Joery Puerto, head of Police Station 8, said the victim was riding his motorcycle when the perpetrators moved closer to him and shot him at close range around 1:37 p.m.

Puerto said the victim suffered four gunshot wounds in the head. He was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

A copy of a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera posted on social media showed the victim falling from his driven motorcycle after he was shot.

Police recovered from the scene two fired bullets from a .45 caliber firearm.

Puerto said the victim owns a palabok (noodle) eatery in Barangay 40.

He said they have no motive yet for the incident, as they are still checking the background of the victim.
