A 65-year-old man was injured after he was shot by his brother-in-law morning of Dec 5, 2022 in Molo, Iloilo City.

Police identified the victim as Ricardo Roquero, a resident of Barangay San Juan, Molo.

His assailant, Nestor Clarito, 64, who lives adjacent to him, immediately fled after the incident.

According to Jessica Roquero, the victim’s elder sister and the suspect’s live-in partner, Clarito left home on Sunday to attend a burial mass.

But he failed to go home immediately and feed their backyard hogs.

Staff Sergeant James Merver Pano, Molo police investigator, said Jessica was irritated even more after leftover foods intended to feed the pigs were already reeking.

The couple then figured in an argument.

Roquero allegedly defended his sister and gave a mouthful to the suspect.

Clarite subsequently pulled a gun and shot the victim twice.

Roquero was hit on the upper portion of the abdomen and left upper forearm.

He immediately fled brining his firearm. He remains at large, as of press time.

Jessica told police investigators that she was a former rebel.

She met the suspect while she was a medic at the NPA movement.

When Clarito got wounded in an encounter, she treated them.

They eventually had a relationship.

When they already got old, the couple decided to leave the movement.
