BACOLOD City – One of the four persons who allegedly robbed a business establishment of P262,000 in cash and gadgets was arrested in a pursuit operation at Barangay 6, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on July 20, 2019.

Police identified the suspect as Roljan Cabarles, 23, of Barangay 8. He is a newly-identified drug personality.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, city police chief, said Cabarles was arrested at his friend’s house, where he reportedly hid the gadgets that were stolen from the establishment.

Guadalupe said Cabarles and his three other companions allegedly ransacked the establishment at Barangay 7 and stole cellular phones and laptops worth P187,000, and P75,000 cash placed inside a vault.

The 42-year-old branch manager of the establishment discovered the incident when she reported to work.

She discovered the padlocks of their roll up doors already destroyed.

Cabarles was identified by some witnesses and the establishment’s closed circuit television (CCTV) camera, Guadalupe said.

Recovered from the suspect were assorted cellular phones, two laptops, and a cellular phone accessory.

He also allegedly yielded two sachets of suspected shabu worth P1,500.

Guadalupe said Cabarles’s three companions are still at-large.

They are not members of an organized robbery group, he added.

Cabarles will be charged for robbery and illegal possession of dangerous drugs. He is detained at the police station.
