BACOLOD City – A man was arrested after he allegedly sexually abused his 18-year-old friend in Talisay City, Negros Occidental over the weekend.

Police Chief Master Sergeant Melinda Taganile, chief of Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), identified the suspect as truck driver Clinton Pelayo, 22.

Taganile said the incident happened on Saturday night when the victim, whose name was withheld by police, tagged along with the suspect to buy ice cream in a store.

After buying an ice cream, Pelayo, who was driving a motorcycle, reportedly brought the victim in a vacant space in a subdivision and knocked her unconscious with brass knuckles.

Taganile said the victim found herself half-naked when she regained consciousness.

She tried to resist until she was able to run and ask help from nearby residents.

Pelayo tried to escape but he was allegedly sideswiped by a bus.

He was brought to a hospital, where he was positively identified by the victim, who is also confined there due to bruises and other injuries.

Taganile said Pelayo tried to escape again but he was subdued by the hospital guards.

Pelayo, who is detained at Talisay City Police Station, alleged that he was drunk when it happened.

Rape charges will be filed against Pelayo Monday, Taganile said.
