BACOLOD City -A 22-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday after he allegedly sexually abused an 11-year-old girl in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental last Monday.
Police withheld the name of the minor-victim and the suspect.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Necerato Sabando Jr., town police chief, said the suspect entered the room of the victim while she was sleeping and allegedly threatened her at knifepoint.
Sabando said the victim’s family knew the suspect, thus he was arrested the following day.
“Matagal na daw itong may crush sa bata. Matagal na siyang may pagnanasa, at matagal niya nang nililigawan kaso bata pa,” Sabando said.
Sabando said the results of the victim’s medical examination indicated lacerations in her sexual organ.
Charges for rape in relation to Republic Act 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act were filed against the suspect, according to Sabando.
Sabando said the suspect is not under their drugs watchlist.
