BACOLOD City – Police are probing if the death of a man in Barangay Poblacion, Cauayan, Negros Occidental last Sunday, was a case of accidental gun firing or homicide.

Police Major Gary Alan Resuma, Cauayan town police chief, said that 37-year-old Jeemo Redimo suffered a gunshot wound in the head.

Resuma said that Redimo and his companion came from a drinking session. However, nobody could tell what really happened next, aside from the victim’s companion whom police tagged as a person of interest.

“Wala ta kabalo kung basi nag agaway sila ka armas, or gin tiro gid siya or basi may lalisay,” Resuma said.

Resuma said the victim’s companion was arrested after he was last seen with the victim when the latter was still alive.

Resuma said the victim’s companion told the police where he kept his homemade .38 caliber revolver after the incident.

“Wala man sila kuno away, galing ngaa gin tago niya ang armas,” he added.

Resuma said that he will be subjected to a paraffin test.
