Man injured in hit-and-run

BACOLOD City – Police are looking for the owner of a car who reportedly hit a man at Barangay Poblacion, Valladolid, Negros Occidental last Wednesday and fled.

The victim was identified as Jeruel Jambaro, 37, of the said village.

Police Major Wilfredo Benoman Jr., town police chief, said Jambaro was walking on the roadside and was about to cross the street when he was allegedly sideswiped by an unidentified vehicle traveling on a southern direction.

Jambaro suffered injuries and was taken to Bago City Hospital. He was later transferred to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here, his condition is currently stable.

Benoman is appealing to the car owner to surface to assist the victim.

“Basi bala nahadlok lang siya at that time pagkatabo,” he added.

Benoman said they are also calling for some witnesses who may have seen the incident for the possible identification of the vehicle.
