BACOLOD City – A man who allegedly hacked another man in Sagay City, Negros Occidental last Friday, was arrested in Murcia town the following day.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, city police chief, identified the suspect as John Paul Badayos of Barangay Colonia Divina, Sagay City.

Guadalupe said that Badayos reportedly hid at his relatives in the said town and was arrested through the help of barangay officials.

Badayos is accused of hacking 40-year-old Albert Gallego while drinking liquor with his companions at his house in Barangay Colonia Divina.

Gallego succumbed to a hack wound in the head.

Guadalupe said that grudges triggered Badayos to allegedly commit the crime. “Hindi nga lang natin alam kung ano talaga pinag-awayan nila,” he added.
