Man found dead on grassy patch

BACOLOD City – The body of an unidentified man was found in a grassy patch of Palanca Street, Reclamation Area, Barangay 2 here yesterday.

Police Captain Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2, said they are still waiting for the family or anyone who will claim the victim’s remains.

Pendon said the victim suffered four gunshot wounds in his lower abdomen and back.

Pendon said a resident in the area heard gunshots around 1 a.m. Friday.

Four hours later, the victim was found lifeless by an e-bike rider around 5:30 a.m.

Pendon said the victim was estimated to be 30-40 years old, stands 5 feet and 5 inches, and was wearing a pair of shorts with no shirt.

Police recovered from the scene two empty cartridges and live ammunition of a suspected .45 caliber ammunition.

Pendon said they could not yet think of any possible angle because they have yet to identify the victim.

“From the identity of the victim, puwede ta ma check background niya to determine the motive,” he added.
