BACOLOD City – The Bacong Municipal Police Station in Negros Oriental is investigating the case of a man who was found dead inside a white sedan at Diversion Road, Purok Morning Glory, Barangay Isugan last Tuesday.

Police identified the victim as Ferdinand Escalante, 35, of Valencia town.

Major Fortunato Villafuerte, town Police Chief, in a media interview, said Escalante, who is said to be a member of the LGBTQ community, succumbed to a gunshot wound in the head which was wrapped with a plastic bag.

Villafuerte said witnesses saw a white Hyundai Accent reportedly parked in the area since Monday night and when they checked the following day, they saw the bloodied victim in the vehicle.

It prompted them to report to authorities.

He said the victim was found at the passenger’s seat, while a slug of .45-caliber ammunition was found on the driver’s seat.

He said they are looking for closed circuit television (CCTV) camera footage in the area to help them in the investigation.
