Man drowns in Dumarao

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Leomer Dumol, 56, died after he accidentally drowned while swimming in a falls at Barangay Bungsuan, Dumarao.

Investigation by the Dumarao Municipal Police Station indicated that two persons saw Dumol floating on the water.

The two immediately rescued the victim and took him to the nearest hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by the attending doctor.

Dumol was last seen alive when he asked permission from his family to swim in the falls.

On the other hand, a farmer from Brgy. Guintas in Sigma town was also found dead in a rice field.

Ernesto Soriano, 51, was found face down in a field which he plowed.

The family believed Soriano succumbed to his heart ailment.

It was learned that the victim drank liquor the night before he died.

Meanwhile, a 53-year-old charcoal maker was found dead Tuesday afternoon in a nipa hut at Sitio Ilaya, Barangay Balaring in lvisan, Capiz.

The police identified the victim as Larry Solis Isiderio of said place.

According to Police Master Sergeant Lord Amosig, lvisan Municipal Police Station investigator, the victim was found dead by his own mother.

Police said the family believed that there was no foul-play in Isiderio’s death as he might have succumbed to his heart ailment.

Ex-convict arrested for wearing stolen watch

An ex-convict who is also facing robbery case was arrested Tuesday afternoon while drinking liquor with his friends in a store in Brgy. Pangabuan, Jamindan, Capiz.

Ernest Inaudito, 39, was arrested for wearing a wristwatch that was allegedly stolen from another sari-sari store in their village.

The sari-sari store owner complained to the police claiming that unidentified suspects ransacked and robbed his store.

The stolen items included:

-Canned goods worth P700

-13 packs of noodles worth P195

-10 bottles of Tanduay Senior worth P600

-Wristwatch worth P500.

Police recovered from Inaudito the following items

-a belt bag

-3 scissors

-a wristwatch

-a black wallet, and

-P50 cash.

Inaudito, who had been charged with another case of robbery, is in the custody of Jamindan police.
