Leonardia slate poised for 15-0 victory in Bacolod

BACOLOD City – Incumbent Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and his Grupo Progreso (GP) are poised to earn a 15-0 victory in the May 13, 2019 midterm elections.

Based on the partial and unofficial count as of 11:48 a.m. of May 14, Leonardia has 141,897 ballots against his opponent, former councilor Jocelle Batapa-Sigue who got 79,534 votes.

Incumbent Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran also maintained a large lead with 123,672 votes against his opponent Jude Thaddeus Sayson who garnered 89,955 votes.

Lone District Congressman Greg Gasataya is also set to be re-elected into office with 132,705 votes.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) is also dominated by GP candidates, with the exception of Marlon Solidum, who is currently battling for the 12th and final spot with opposition candidate, incumbent Councilor Wilson Gamboa Jr.

Solidum has 84,879 votes against Gamboa’s 85,485.

As of press time, three clustered precincts in the areas of Barangay Felisa, Singcang-Airport, and Taculing have yet to transmit their election results.

Meanwhile, votes coming from four other clustered precincts in Barangay 3, Estefania, Vista Alegre, and Taculing have yet to be counted due to corrupted SD cards.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) estimated that around 6,000 votes have yet to be counted from seven clustered precincts.
