La Salle stars unite for fundraising drive

De La Salle University’s past and present star athletes unite for a fundraising drive amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Headed by three-time UAAP Most Valuable Player in swimming, Enchong Dee, together with La Salle women’s volleyball squad were able to raise 4 million pesos that will be used to feed almost 1,000 families for a month.

Kada-Uno Lasalyano, a seven-hour fundraising program, united all 17 campuses of La Salle that was streamed on Facebook.

The exact amount gathered reached 4,009,241.59 pesos and beneficiaries were identified right after the livestream.

“Friends, we need 4,000 Filipinos to donate P1,000 each and we will be able to feed 1,000 homeless families for one month,” said former De La Salle president Br Armin Luistro, FSC.

Members of the Lady Spikers who participated in the fundraiser were Michele Gumabao, Aby Maraño, Ara Galang, Kim Fajardo, Mika Reyes and Dawn Macandili, Tine Tiamzon, Aduke Ogunsanya, Jolina Dela Cruz, Michelle Cobb, Thea Gagate, Leila Cruz, Ali Borabo, Fifi Sharma, Justine Jazareno, Juls Coronel, and Matet Espina.
