Another non-resident was arrested for illegal drugs possession at Barangay Bakhaw, Mandurriao, Iloilo City shortly after midnight of February 3.

Police identified the suspect as Krismer Javone, 28, of Barangay Tanza Baybay, City Proper, Iloilo City.

Members of the Iloilo City Police Station 5 initially collared Javone after he was seen with a knife tucked in his waist.

When asked if he has any pertinent document or reason for his possession of the knife, Javone answered none, which led to his arrest.

When he was subsequently frisked, Javone yielded a sachet of suspected shabu inside the right pocket of his short pants.

Lieutenant Colonel Albert Sy, ICPS5 chief, said the incident was witnessed by Barangay Kagawad Eden Lopez of Bakhaw.

When asked what his purpose was in going to Bakhaw, “gin-akô niya man nga mabakal shabu (He admitted to buying shabu),” Sy said.

Javone even identified the drug pusher, but Sy declined to give further details.

The suspect had no previous drug-related arrest, but he was charged for frustrated murder.

He was arrested on Oct. 21, 2014 but the case against him was later dismissed.

He is the fourth person arrested for illegal drugs in a span of four days since Sy assumed as acting Mandurriao police chief.

Javone is detained at ICPS5 lock-up cell and would be charged for violation of City Ordinance No. 138 and Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
