Capiz’s police officers are up for a double mission as they seek to keep fit not only their physiques but also their spirituality in order to make the police force truly in the service of God, people and country.

The pursuit of spiritual fitness can now be done in a good place following the inauguration and blessing of the Capiz Police Provincial Office Chapel and Adoration Room in Camp Teodorico Apil in Brgy. Lanot here.

The event was graced by PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa who said that the project is geared towards that spiritual upbringing of every policeman.

“It is important that you reflect on a daily basis on what you have done to determine what to do more,” said Gamboa, who was himself a devotee of Sinulog Festival’s Patron Saint Sto. Niño and the Our Lady of Peñafrancia.

The project serves as a place for worship, Christian fellowship and meditation of the CPPO officers and personnel and its various stakeholders.

It was realized through the support of the Provincial Advisory Council chaired by businessman Ivan Chu, some local officials and private donors, whose financial help realized the project.

Pulling out from the kind-hearted donors and a supportive community, Gamboa directed the province’s policemen to leave a legacy of good service reputation by passionately carrying out their respective roles as police officers in the province.

The spirituality of the policemen is further shepherded by CPPO acting provincial director Col. Julio Gustilo, Jr. who wanted them to have “faith and fear of God” as this will keep them from going astray or beyond the legal bounds of the law.

After all, spiritual and physical wellness leads to better quality police services as both matter in enhancing work and a walk with God. (PIA-Capiz)
