Kaya FC-Iloilo completed an emphatic comeback win against the Azkals Development Team (ADT), 3-1, in the ongoing Philippines Football League (PFL) last March 18, 2023, held at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

After going down early in the first half when ADT’s Andres Aldeguer gave the youngest squad in the tournament a 1-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of action, the veteran Kaya FC flipped the switch immediately to survive a stunning upset.

Iloilo responded well despite an early 0-1 hole and struck back to their offensive pressure that put the entire ADT on their heels in the following minutes of action.

Kaya FC finally equalized the high-octane duel after Audie Menzie broke loose inside the penalty area in the 29th minute of the first half.

The remaining 16 minutes figured in a defensive battle between the two top teams as Kaya FC played around the midfield to halt ADT’s surging offense.

Jarvey Gayoso then stepped up for Iloilo after breaking the deadlock in the 47th minute when he swished in a goal off a Daizo Horikoshi lob pass.

The young star’s conversion then began to suck the life out of the ADT team as Kaya FC capitalized on their defensive miscues and continued pushing the ball in hunt for more goals.

In the extension period, Arnel Amita provided the icing on the cake after scoring Kaya FC’s third goal off another Horikoshi long pass.

Despite being crowded by three defenders inside the penalty box, Amita managed to send in the last goal for Kaya FC to spike their record to 14 wins and three losses.

Meanwhile, ADT failed to bounce back from their last loss and fell to six wins and six losses built from 21 points.
