KAYA FC-Iloilo’s offensive sets were too much for Global Cebu FC to handle as they trounced the latter, 2-0, in the Philippines Football League.

It was a familiar start for Kaya as they ran through every Global Cebu’s defender and attempted to score at will.

After numerous tries, Jordan Mintah took advantage of a defensive misunderstanding between Cebu’s defenders in the 13th minute mark and chipped in the first goal of the match.

After Mintah’s breakaway, Cebu’s defense began to tighten up, clogging up side lanes to prevent through balls and lob passes that prevented Kaya to cash in another goal for the next 30 minutes.

But with 45 minutes left, Darryl Roberts used his genius to break free on the left side of the pitch and deliver a gorgeous pass to Mintah who scored another goal.

The whole second half revolved in defensive battles as Global Cebu doubled up their efforts in their defense, not allowing Kaya to score.

With the conclusion of the game, Kaya is only a point down from first placers Ceres Negros. They will next meet Mendiola FC.
