Kalei Mau confirmed that she will have a short stint in Puerto Rico as an import for the Changas de Naranjito’s professional volleyball league.

“To all my Filipino supporters, Salamat sa lahat for your constant love and support. I want you to hear it from me first that I will be playing abroad for a two-and-a-half month season. I plan to return to PH after this quick stint to compete in the PVL with my team (F2 Logistics),” Mau posted in her Twitter account.

Due to Mau’s Puerto Rico stopover, she won’t be able to participate in the Philippine national volleyball team’s tryouts.

The Filipino-American spiker was part of the 25-women pool that is set to undergo a bubble tryout by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation.

“With that being said, I will not be able to attend the National Team tryouts this week due to travel restrictions and safety risks. But my dream to play for the Philippine flag has and will not change,” added Mau.

Mau was a vital piece to F2 Logistics’ majestic title run in the Philippine Superliga, forming one of the toughest squads ever built with Kim Kianna Dy, Majoy Baron, and Abby Maraño.
