The Department of Tourism (DOT) in partnership with Ayala Malls and the Department of Agriculture brings to Iloilo the last leg of this year’s Kain Na! Culinary and Travel Festival at The Shops at Atria, Ayala Malls, Donato Pison Avenue, Mandurriao, Iloilo City on December 6-8, 2019.
Kain Na! features local ingredients and dishes prepared by local chefs, cultural performances and farm tourism sites and their products.
“Kain Na! will bring Western Visayas’ best and iconic dishes as well as highlight the products of the DOT-accredited farm sites in the region.This will once again showcase why everyone should experience Western Visayas first”, DOT-6 Regional Director Atty. Helen J. Catalbas said.
The 3-day event will be participated in by the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo and Iloilo City.
Activities include parade of featured chefs and Heirloom Recipe Contest featuring mayors and local chef tandem for the first day, while culinary and farm tourism talk, cultural presentation and parade of iconic dishes and delicacies will be showcased by each provinces during their LGU day, Iloilo City and Province Day on December 6, 2019, Antique and Capiz Day on December 7, 2019 and Aklan and Guimaras Day on December 8, 2019.
“We encourage everyone to join us in promoting our very own cuisine and local products. Let us support our farms and continue to uplift our culture and heritage. Let us show the world why it’s more fun to eat in Western Visayas,” Atty. Catalbas said. (MDO)
