Justice sought in Capizeña nurse’s death

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The family of a Capizeña military nurse who was stabbed dead by a construction worker last week in Makati City is crying for justice.

Janet Aguilar sought the help of authorities to give justice to the death of her daughter, 2nd Lieutenant Jennett Beron Aguilar, 31, a nurse of AFP’s V. Luna Hospital and native of Barangay Milibili here.

“Ginpadako mo sang maayo imo anak tapos tamasaan lang sang iban,” a tearful Janet told reporters here.

She said her daughter was set to marry her fiancé, Philippine Coast Guard personnel Arvie Supetran, in January 2020.

Jennett’s body was flown here Sunday afternoon on board a C-130 flight of Philippine Air Force. Her remains lie at their house in Milibili.

Police reports indicated that Jennett was stabbed to death by a 19-year-old suspect who allegedly robbed her in Makati City Thursday morning.

The suspect was John Louie Brosas, a construction worker from Barangay Martirez, Pateros.

According to a police report, Brosas stole Jennett’s phone while she was waiting for a jeepney at Road 2 in Barangay Comembo around 2 a.m.

Sergeant Norberto Capilitan rushed the victim to the Ospital ng Makati (OsMak) after seeing her on the ground in front of his house.

Police officers cops went to the construction site where the suspect was working and apprehended him after two hours.

Retrieved from the suspect was the victim’s cell phone. Ines also admitted to stabbing the victim in the chest.

During the scuffle, the suspect said Jennett tried to hit him with a steel pipe.

Police said they learned that Jennett had been helping Brosas.
