BACOLOD City – A property judicial administrator was gunned down by three unidentified persons on a motorcycle near a bakeshop at Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City, Negros Occidental Thursday morning.

Killed was Bonifacio Gerarman, 63, of the said village.

Initial investigation showed that the three assailants tailed the victim who was walking near a bakeshop, and shot him using handguns.

Gerarman, who was a judicial administrator of a real estate in the city, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

Recovered from the scene were three fired cartridge cases of .45 caliber ammunition; a live ammunition, a fired bullet, and a deformed slug of the same caliber.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Necerato Sabando Jr., Escalante City police chief, said they are looking into work-related issues as possible motives behind the killing.

Sabando, however, said they have not received reports of previous threats against Gerarman.

Sabando said the victim was tasked to handle a problematic piece of land in the village.

“We are closely probing such angle,” he added.
