As promised, newly-installed Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director Colonel Noel Aliño will personally reach out to the families of the three businessmen who were shot dead last Sept 14, 2022 in Estancia town.

Aliño, who now heads the Special Investigation Task Group (SITG) PALIBOSFER, said that he was supposed to start personally meeting the families on Friday, Oct 14, but it was scuttled due to a conflict in schedule.

“I want to personally explain to them how far we have been in our investigation,” he said.

It would also be an opportunity for the IPPO to reassure the family that the police are doing everything they can to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“I know there’s been a gap between the investigating body and the families and I want to somehow patch it up,” Aliño said.

When asked what “gap” he was talking about, he made mention about the families doing the talks with the National Bureau of Investigation, rather than the SITG.

“Ultimately, as I’ve said earlier, what I wanted is for us to have teamwork because our goal is the same: justice for the victims,” he said.

Aliño said he would also personally meet with the NBI leadership in the region for them to harmonize their parallel investigation.

Latest reports from the SITG revealed that they have almost “completed” the puzzle and have zeroed in on the motive.
