BACOLOD City – A newborn baby girl placed inside a plastic bag was found at Gardenville Subdivision, Barangay Tangub, here early Monday.

Police Major Charles Gever, head of Police Station 8, said a 52-year-old resident went out of their house at around 1:20 a.m. because their dog was barking so loud.

When she checked, she noticed a plastic bag hanging on their gate. When she opened the bag, she found the baby inside.

“The plastic was not sealed when she found the baby who was left by an unidentified person,” Gever said.

The baby was brought to the police station at 10 a.m., along with the village’s social welfare staff and the house owner.

She was cleared of any injury after medical examination and was later turned over to the Sto. Niño orphanage.

Gever said the neighborhood did not notice anyone leaving the plastic bag in the area.
