LUKE Alquinn S. Flores, a former CPU Golden Lion champion in tennis, has bolstered Ateneo de Manila University’s lawn tennis team in UAAP.

Flores said tennis is a way of life for their family as all five siblings play the game.

A fulltime scholar of Ateneo, Flores vowed to bring the name of Iloilo in the national tennis scene.

The former Palarong Pambansa champion helped the Blue Eagles to a second-place finish in the doubles event of the UAAP tennis tournament last February 2019.

In last year’s Olivares Cup in Manila, Flores and former Philippine top seed PJ Tierro played together and reached the quarterfinals.

When asked about his commitment to the sport and his studies, Flores said, “You should have time to rest, you need to distract yourself occasionally for you to miss the sport. It is very natural to get burned out.”

Flores will join the PPS-PEPP Suarez Cup in Brent, Laguna on July 19-28, 2019.

He is currently a fourth-year student of Interdisciplinary Studies (Management and Communication track). He plans to pursue medicine.
