A surging Ilongga is slowly embracing her role with the Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors volleyball squad under the Philippine SuperLiga (PSL).

Glaudine Troncoso, a middle blocker who was picked up by the Lady Realtors after they conducted a team tryout in Iloilo last year, is showing promise in her volleyball career despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

From a varsity player in Pavia National High School, Glaudine hoped to continue playing volleyball upon entering college. Her high school performance did just that, delivering her a scholarship from the Central Philippine University (CPU) as part of the varsity program.

After hearing that a team from the PH Superliga will be conducting a tryout to be part of their professional team, Troncoso put in the work and through her effort and determination, managed to land a spot in the roster.

For Troncoso and the Lady Realtors, their quest for a title isn’t affected at all by the pandemic as they still unite every Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for virtual team practices.

When asked about how she was able to adjust to the professional level, Troncoso shared in an exclusive interview with the Daily Guardian how her teammates made it easy for her.

“Ate DM Demontano and Jackie Estoquia, they are my trusted ates because we’ve known each other for a long time and also Ilonggas. Ate Shaina Joseph, she’s a part of the Canadian national team. She taught me lots of things in life and techniques in volleyball.”

As soon as the next season of the PSL will be confirmed, the Ilongga spiker guaranteed that she will be ready every time her number will be called up.

“Be confident sa self and trust the process. If you really want it, work for it. Obstacles and hardships will always be along the way but never give up. Challenge yourself,” Troncoso ended.
